Inter Milan will get their 2022/23 Serie A campaign underway when they travel to Stadio Comunale Via del Mare to face off with newly-promoted Lecce on Saturday night.

Lecce enjoyed a sensational campaign last season as they finished top of Serie B, which saw secure the automatic promotion to the Serie A for this season.

Their main target this season will be to keep their top flight status and thus the need a strong start, but they face Inter Milan who are expected to give them a baptism of fire back to the Italian big time.

Lecce suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hand of Cittadella last Friday, which saw their Coppa Italia campaign come to a quick and abrupt end.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan failed to retain their Scudetto glory last season losing out to their local rivals Ac Milan by just two points. It was still an impressive campaign for Simone Inzaghi’s men, who picked up 25 victories, nine draws and lost just four league matches.

They will be looking to push for the Scudetto this time around, but they have had an unconvincing pre-season, where they managed just one win from their five friendlies, and are coming off a 4-2 defeat to Villarreal in their final friendly.

They therefore have much to amend for before the kickoff, but they are clear favorites on Saturday.
