Lazio and Udinese will both be seeking to return to winning ways when the face off at the Stadio Olimpico for the 15th Serie A round on Thursday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Lazio have made an inconsistent campaign this season burning hot and cold throughout the season recording six wins, three draws and five defeats to collect 21 points, which have left them sitting in the eight spot in the Serie A standings level on point with Juventus and Bologna while four behind Roma who sit in the fifth.
Maurizio Sarri’s side head into the match in a poor form as they have only claimed one win their last three matches across all competitions losing the other two. The win came at away in the Europa League last week, where they beat Lokomotiv Moscow 3-0 on Thursday night and it was sandwiched between two Serie defeats, with Lazio losing 2-0 to Juventus on November 20 before suffering a 4-0 humbling at Napoli last Sunday.
Prior to the two Serie A defeats Sarri’s men were coming off a three-match unbeaten run that recording two wins and draw in the run and therefore Sarri will be hoping that his side can bounce back in the Thursday’s fixture. The hosts will fancy their chances here since during the last 28 meeting with Lazio playing at home, they have won 17times, there have been four draws while Udinese have won seven times.
Udinese meanwhile, have made a slow campaign this season as the Udine club has only recorded three wins in their 14 matches so far picking up six draws and five defeats in the process. They currently sit in the 14th spot level on 15 points with Sampdoria, Venezia and Spezia who sit in the 15th, 16th and 17th respectively while sit just five points above Genoa who are in the relegation zone.
Luca Gotti’s side head into the match in poor form as they only won one of their last six matches in the Serie A, drawing three while suffering two defeats in the run and are coming off a 0-0 draw with Genoa at home last weekend. Prior to the draws Gotti’s men were coming off a 2-1 defeat at Torino and therefore they will be looking to return to winning ways here as they aim at staying away from the dropping zone.
