Lazio will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome Inter Milan to the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday for the eighth round of the Serie A with kickoff at 19:00.
Lazio will be facing a visit form their former manager Simeone Inzaghi and they have been struggling without their former boss but a record of three wins, two draws and two defeats has seen them collect 11 points, which have left them in the sixth place with 10 points behind league leaders Napoli.
Lazio come into this match on the back of a 3-0 loss to Bologna in their last Serie A outing, with first half goals from Musa Barrow and Arthur Theate and a second half goal from Aaron Hickey sealed the three points for Bologna while condemning Lazio to their second Serie A defeat. The defeat was a major setback for the Maurizio Sarri’s side who were on the back of a four-match unbeaten run with back-to-back wins across all competitions.
However, Lazio are unbeaten in their last 16 home matches in the Serie A claiming 14 victories in the run which represents their longest such run since 2002, but they face Inter Milan a side they have only won two of their last 10 meetings against.
Meanwhile Inzaghi’s return to the capital will be received in a hostile manner but the former Lazio boss will be happy with his decision having managed to keep Inter’s high standards after succeeding Scudetto-wining boss Antonio Conte amid financial crisis at the Milan giants.
The reigning champions still remain unbeaten in the Serie A this season while recording five wins and two draws to collect 17 points that have left them in the third spot with only four points behind high-flying Napoli at the top.
Inzaghi’s side also head into the match in good form having won three, drawn two and lost one of their last six matches across all competitions and have continued their scoring ways having score two or more goals in all their seven matches this season.
