Inter Milan will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the new Serie A campaign when they travel to Stadio Olimpico to take on Lazio in their Matchday three tie on Friday night.
Lazio did well last season but missed out on a Champions League finish by only one place and six points. Their task this season will be to go that step further and a secure a top four finish. They certainly have a decent deep squad and a manager with plenty of experience in Maurizio Sarri and thus they well off to make a push.
Sarri’s side have made a strong start to the campaign having claimed four points from the available six and they will look to keep picking up points to strengthen their bid for a top four finish, in the early stages of the season.
However, next up is last season’s runners up, Inter Milan, who they have fallen to in three if their last six Serie A matches, although Lazio have won two in the run and are unbeaten against Inter in their last three home fixtures. They won 3-1 last time the two met at Olimpico and they will hope for the same on Friday.
Inter Milan are also pushing to finish a step higher than they did last season. A good start to the campaign last season was a big part in their push for the title last season and therefore they understand how important a strong start to the campaign is.
They have certainly made a good start so far in the campaign having won both their opening two matches, beating Lecce 2-1 on the opening day before easing past Spezia 3-0 last time out.
The Nerazzurri will be looking to keep the momentum going on Friday as they hope to strengthen their bid in the title race.
