Matt O’Riley (Celtic – Brighton)

Brighton confirmed the signing of Matt O’Riley from Scottish club Celtic. The Danish midfielder agreed to a five-year contract until 2029 with the Premier League club.

Matt began his career at Fulham, where he spent 11 years having joined them at eight. He made one senior appearance with the London club in the EFL Cup before moving to Mk Dons permanently.

He instantly impacted MK Dons, scoring ten goals in 49 appearances, prompting Celtic to sign him on a significant fee. He made over 100 appearances for the Scottish club, scoring 27 goals and helping them to three Premiership titles, including a domestic treble in 2023.

He swept the board at the club’s awards in 2023/24, also winning Players’ Player and Young Player of the Season and being nominated in the PFA’s Scottish Premiership team of the season.

David Carmo (Porto – Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest has completed the signing of David Carno from Porto on a five–year deal. However, the 25-year-old Portuguese defender will spend the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Olympiacos. He was at Olympiacos last season on loan from Porto.

Carmo has spent most of his career in Portugal with Braga and Porto. He began at Braga, making 57 appearances across all competitions and won the Taca de Portugal in 2020/21 season. He then moved to Porto, making 27 appearances, again winning the Tace de Portugal in 2023.  Last season on loan at Olympiacos, Carmo helped win the Europa Conference League.

Dara O’Shea (Burnley – Ipswich)

Ipswich have confirmed the signing of Dara O’Shea from former Premier League club Burnley. The 25-year-old defender has agreed to a five-year contract at Ipswich.

O’Shea is a West Brom Academy graduate who made over 100 appearances for the Baggies before moving to Burnley in the summer of 2023.

Internationally, he has featured for Ireland at U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels and has won 26 senior caps. He was named FAI Young Player of the Year in 2021.

Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace – Leicester City)

Leicester City has signed a two-year deal with the experienced forward Jordan Ayew from Crystal Palace. Ayew has made 212 appearances for Crystal Palace in all competitions across six seasons.

He began his career in France, playing with Ligue 1 clubs Marseille, Sochaux, and Lorient. He has also played for several English clubs, including Aston Villa, Swansea City and Palace.

The 32-year-old strike has flourished internationally, representing Ghana in two FIFA World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations.

Jack Clarke (Sunderland – Ipswich)

Jack Clarke has agreed to a permanent transfer from Sunderland to Ipswich Town. The 23-year-old winger made 114 appearances for Sunderland and scored 28 times. He initially had joined the Black Cats on a loan from Spurs before making the move permanent in 2022.

He graduated from Leeds United Academy before moving to Tottenham. He enjoyed loan spells with QPR and Stoke City before joining Sunderland.

Joachim Andersen (Crystal Palace – Fulham)

Fulham signed Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace on a permanent transfer. Joachim returns to Fulham, having been a fan favorite during his loan period at the club during the 2020/21 campaign.

He has now signed a permanent contract until 2029, with a Club option to extend by a further year. He will retain his number five shirt at Fulham, having worn the shirt during his loan at the London club.

Andersen began his career in the Netherlands with Eredivisie side FC Twente, where he scored on his debut in 2015. He made 49 appearances for the club before moving to Sampdoria in Italy. He was a revelation for the Serie A side helping them finish in top half in his first season.

This prompted Lyon to make him their record signing. He was eventful at Lyon reaching the semi-finals of both the Champions League and the French Cup. His loan move to Fulham followed, and despite it being frustrating for the Cottagers, Andersen excelled at the heart of the defense. This earned him a permanent move from Lyn to Palace after Fulham’s relegation.
