Kenya are still looking for their first win in the CAF World Cup qualifying campaign when they welcome Mali to Nyanyo National Stadium in Nairobi on Sunday with kickoff at 16:00.
Kenya will be looking to pick themselves up from an embarrassing defeat in their last qualifying match where they were left red-faced in Agadir as they were beaten 5-0 by their Sunday opponents Mali. The humiliating defeat was their first loss in Group E having drawn both of their opening two games against Uganda and Rwanda.
Engin Firat’s men are now in the third spot with two points and another setback will be a massive blow to their hopes of making it to their first ever World Cup finals.
Meanwhile Mali look determined to book a place in Qatar come next year having made an impressive start to their World Cup qualifying campaign collecting seven points from their opening three matches and remain unbeaten going into their fourth match.
Mali still remains at the top of Group E standings with two points ahead o9f their nearest challengers Uganda with three matches left to play. They head into the match in a good form as they have lost just two of their last six matches across all competitions keeping clean sheets in their last three matches.
Therefore, Mali will fancy their chances of doing a double on the Harambee Stars six match unbeaten run was ended in the 5-0 thumping.
