Serie A returns to the fold this weekend with massive fixture as Juventus welcome Inter Milan to Allianz Stadium for their Matchday 31 tie on Sunday night with kickoff at 21:45 EAT.
Juventus have made an impressive resurgence in the league with the Serie A giants going unbeaten in their last 16 league matches and have won their last four in row, including the 2-0 victory over Salernitana prior to the International break.
The Old Lady now sit in the fourth place on 59 points from 30 matches just a points behind the third-placed Inter Milan. A win therefore for Juventus on Sunday would see them leapfrog their rivals while leaving them within four points of the leaders AC Milan if the result go their way elsewhere.
Thus Massimiliano Allegri’s side will be looking for another win on Sunday and they will be confident heading into the match as they are in fine home form currently. They have gone unbeaten at Allianz stadium in their last eight matches, claiming six victories in the run. Also, when playing at home they have not lost Inter in the last 10 encounters.
While Juventus are busking in their recent resurgence, Inter Milan are on a downward trajectory in the recent weeks. Their title defence now appear to be unravelling as the Nerazzurri have only claimed one win from their last seven Serie A matches – a run that has seen drop to third on the table, six points behind city rivals AC Milan.
They are coming off back-to-back 1-1 draws against Torino and Fiorentina they now drawn four of their last six Serie A matches, while have drawn all their last four away matches in the division. They still some time to get back on track and title chase, but will need to turn the draws into victories.
Simone Inzaghi will hope that the international break has helped his team regroup as they need to get back on track or they are in for a very disappointing end to the season, following what was a bright and dominant start to the campaign.
