Japan lost defender Yukinari Sugawara to injury before the victory over Paraguay, while Takehiro Tomiyasu was also absent on Thursday following his injury-hit season with Arsenal.
Takumi Minamino could challenge Takefusa Kubo and Ritsu Doan for a spot on the right-hand side, with Kyogo Furuhashi also pushing for inclusion on the opposite flank.
