Inter Milan will look to get their Scudetto race back on track when they welcome Fiorentina to San Siro for their Serie A Matchday 30 fixture on Saturday night with kickoff at 20:00.
Inter Milan have recently been involved in significant disappointments results and continued that last time out as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Torino at away last Sunday. They have now won just one of their last six Serie A matches, picking up three draws while suffering two defeats in the process.
As result the Scudetto champions have dropped to the third-spot, although they are very much still in the title race as they sit just four points below city rivals and league leaders AC Milan, while are just a point below the second –placed Napoli and have one match in hand on both the Rossoneri and Gli Azzurri.
The Nerazzurri will therefore be looking to stay closer to the top two and will need to quickly bounce back to winning ways. Simone Inzaghi’s side will fancy their chances claiming maximum points on Saturday as they have been in a fine home form, having collected 32 points from 14 home matches this season, which is more than any other side in Serie A.
Also Inter have won in all their last four matches against Fiorentina and Inzaghi will be desperate for his side to make that five wins in five matches as they continue their defence of the title.
Meanwhile Fiorentina did well to end their three-match winless run across all competitions as they claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bologna at home in the previous league fixture last Sunday. Prior to the victory Viola were coming off a 2-1 defeat to Sassuolo in Serie A, which was followed with narrow 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Coppa Italia before the 1-1 draw against Verona in Italian top-flight.
They currently sit eighth on 46 points from 28 matches, two points outside the European places and thus will be hopping to break into the top-six with another positive result on Saturday.
However, Vincenzo Italiano’s side have been struggling on the road, having lost six of their last 10 away games in Serie A, while failing to keep a single clean sheet in the process. Nonetheless, they are unlikely to make life easy for their hosts on Saturday.
