Hungary and England will get their 2022-23 UEFA Nations League campaign underway when they lock horns at the Puskas Arena on Saturday night with kickoff at 19:00.
The two have been drawn in the “group of death,” Group 3 of League A alongside Germany and Italy. It will particularly tough for Hungary who earned a promotion to this level last year after finishing top in Group B3.
Hungary need a miracle need a miracle to stay in League A by the end of the campaign as they will need to take points off the England, Italy or Germany, all of whom possess much quality talents in their ranks.
They however, head into the match in a good form having only lost one of their last five matches in all competitions, claiming three victories in the run and there are coming off a 1-0 win over Northern Ireland at away.
Although, Marco Rossi’s side is coming up against England who they have only defeated once in their last seven meetings, suffering five defeats in the run.
Gareth Southgate’s England also head into the match in a superb form having gone unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions, picking up seven victories and two draws. They have also claimed six clean sheets in the run and have won all their last four games in a row, scoring 20 goals while conceding just one.
England will also have point to prove in this group, while sending a message across the globe ahead of the World Cup finals later this year. Although it is still a tough group and they will need to open positively on Saturday if are to challenge for the top spot.
