After the postponement to matches last weekend, the Scottish Premiership will return on Saturday, with Aberdeen making a trip to take on Hibernian.
There is only a difference of two points between the two sides, with a gap of four places separating them in what has been a tight start to the Premiership campaign.
Hibernian have endured a mixed start to the season so far, and they currently sit in eight place having picked up just eight points from their opening six matches.
While that represents over a point per game at this stage, they have struggled to find consistency in their results, winning just two of their firxt six matches in the league.
One of those two victories came last time out against Kilmarnock when Lee Johnson’s side took three points at home against the Premiership strugglers.
Building up on that result will be of uppermost importance, especially if Hibernian wish to climb the Premiership table and move into the top half.
At this point in the season, Aberdeen have picked up 10 points after thier six matches and enter the weekend in third place.
Following an opening-day loss to Celtic, Aberdeen have gone on to lose just one of their next five matches, while winning three matches in that time.
A disappointing 1-1 draw last time out saw Aberdeen’s two-game winning run come to an end, something that they will no doubt look to amend this weekend.
This is a fixture that has not seen one side dominate for long spells, as neither Hibernian or Aberdeen have won consecutive head-to-head encounters since August 2020.
However, as far as matches at Easter Road are concerned, it is certainly Hibernian who enjoy the better time of things, having gone unbeaten in four of their last five meetings at home against Aberdeen.
