Hibernian prepare to host Aberdeen at Easter Road in their Premiership Matchday 3 of the Relegation Group on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Hibernian missed out on the Championship Group when the league split following a 3-1 defeat to Hearts on the final day of the first phase. They however opened the second phase on the right foot as they claimed a 1-0 away victory over St Mirren, before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Livingston last weekend.
Despite the defeat the Hibs managed to secure their top-flight survival, meaning that they have little to play for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile Aberdeen head in the match off a 1-0 victory against Dundee last weekend, with Lewis Ferguson’s second half goal from the spot condemning Dundee to an immediate return to the Championship.
The victory was vital for the Dons who are now just two points from confirming their top-flight survival. A draw will suffice but a victory will be perfect for Aberdeen. They have claimed two victories over Hibs this season claiming a 1-0 victory in October last year and a 3-1 victory in March this year and thus should be confident heading into the clash.
