Hellas Verona vs Venezia Match Analysis and Prediction

Verona welcome Venezia to Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi for their Serie Matchday 27 clash on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:05.

Verona blew away their 2-0 lead at halftime as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Roma in Serie A last Saturday, with Verona racing to early lead as Antonin Barak opened the scores in the 5th minute before Andrien Tameze making it two in the 20th minute, but Cristan Volpato got one back for Roma in the 79th-minute before Edoardo Bove equalized six minute later to award his side a point.

However, Verona will not dwell so much on the draw as they are still a fine form as they are now unbeaten in four of their last five matches claiming three victories and a 2-0 defeat to Juventus in the process.

With 37 points from 26 matches, Igor Tudor’s men currently sit in ninth in the standings, six points outside the European places and are four points above the 10th-placed Torino. Therefore, l Gialloblu will be looking to maintain their form as they seek a positive result on Sunday, which could get them close to the top-six and increase or maintain their gap between themselves and Torino.

They will fancy their chances as they have not lost to Venezia in their last three meetings at home and have also won all their last three meetings including the 4-3 victory at away in the reverse fixture.

On other hand, Venezia failed to make it back-to-back wins in the Serie A last time out as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Genoa at home last Sunday with Thomas Henry opening the scoring for Venezia in the 13th minute before Caleb Ekuban equalized for Genoa in the 29th minute.

Paolo Zanetti’s side have now won just one of their last eight Serie A matches picking up three draws while suffering four defeats in the run. As a result the Lagunari have dropped into the 17th where their sit on goal difference as they are level on points with the 18th-placed Cagliari in the relegation zone, although Venezia have a game in hand on Walter Mazzarri’s side.

Therefore, they head into the match desperately looking to bounce back to winning ways as they seek to move clear of the relegation zone, but will have to do so against a side they have not beaten in their last six encounters, suffering defeats in all their last three meetings.
