Hellas Verona vs Inter Milan Match Analysis and Prediction

The in-form and Serie A reigning champions Inter Milan travel to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi to face Hellas Verona in their second Serie A matchday this Friday with kickoff at 21:45.

The champions will be looking to maintain their fine form and impressive start to the season and are expected to come out too strong for the hosts who were unconvincing on the opening weekend.

Verona under the new management of Eusebio Di Francesco opened their 2021-22 Serie A campaign with a 3-2 home defeat in the hands Sassuolo last weekend. The dismissal of Verona’s captain Miguel Veloso in the opening match proved fatal for Francesco’s side as they fell short to Sassuolo in the second as shorts from Duricic and Hamed Traore helped secure all the three points for the visitors.

Meanwhile Inter Milan under the new management of Simone Inzaghi got off to a winning start as they cruised to an emphatic 4-0 home win against Genoa last weekend. It didn’t take long for the champions to open their account as Milan Skriniar headed the Scudetto ahead in the sixth minute before Hakan Calhanoglu netted in the second eight minutes later. Second half goals from Arturo Vidal and new signing Edin Dzeko capped a perfect start for Inzaghi’s side who made a statement of intent in front of their 27,000 fans at San Siro.

The win meant that Inter have now won 19 of their last 25 matches in Serie A this year with a six-match winning streak across all competitions and stretching to last season. The Nerazzuri displayed a strong and solid defense similar to the one they displayed last season and looked comfortable at the back all through as they were barely troubled by Genoa.

Inter will fancy their chances at Verona as they have a remarkable record against Gialloblu who have never won against Inter in 21 matches and the Nerazzuri travel to Stadio Marc’Antonio with clean sheets in their last four league matches stretching back to last season.
