Hearts vs Hibernian Match Analysis and Prediction

Hibernian will be looking to secure their top half spot when they visit the Tynecastle Park to take on Hearts in the final fixture of the first phase on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.

Hearts have already sealed their position in the top-six as they comfortably sit third in the Premiership standings on 54 points from 32 matches, 19 points below the second-placed Rangers and 14 above the fourth-placed Dundee United.

Therefore, they head into the match with much less pressure for a win on Saturday. However, they will want to extend their unbeaten run to six matches across all competitions and will also want to finish the first phrase in a style.

Hearts have not last to Hibernian in their last four meetings across all competitions, claiming two victories and two draws and will want to keep things that way in the Saturday’s clash.

Hibernian, on the other hand, sit sixth in the Premiership standings on 38 points from 32 matches, just one points above the seventh-placed Ross County in the bottom half. Therefore, their top-half spot is on the line in the Saturday’s clash as anything less than victory could see them slip down into the bottom half.

Hibs’ recent form has been wanting with the side winning just one of their last six matches across all competitions, while have gone winless in their last five league matches, recording four draws and a defeat in the run.

The run is responsible for the pressure they will be on in the Saturday clash and fact that the match is a derby adds some more pressure. They have drawn twice with the hosts this season with both sides failing to score in both matches, but considering the occasion we expect a few in this one.
