Both Hearts and Dundee will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns at Tynecastle Park in a Scottish Premiership fixture on Wednesday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Hearts have made an impressive campaign this season with the side recording 12wins, seven draw and six defeats from their 25 matches to collect 43 points, which have left them sitting in the third spot in the standing with 10 points above the fourth-placed Motherwell.
However, Robbie Neilson’s side come into the match off the back of a heavy defeat in their previous Premiership outing, where they were beaten 5-0 by Rangers at the weekend, a result that saw the gap between the two teams extended to 16 points making it had now for the Jambos to break into the top two this season.
Their focus now is to maintain their third place and they will be keen to respond to their weekend thumping when they face a lowly Dundee side. They will fancy their chances as the last time the two met Hearts won with a 1-0 and they will want to replicate the result.
Meanwhile Dundee have made a poor campaign this season with the club recording four wins, six draws and 14 defeats from their 24 matches to collect 18 points which have left them sitting at the foot of the table with eight points adrift of safety.
They come into the match in low spirits as they were defeated at the weekend in a crucial relegation battle against Ross County, despite the fact that they took the lead through Zak Rudden, with the Staggies coming back to win 2-1.
The defeat extended their winless run to nine matches in the Premiership, a run that has seen them only pick two draws while suffered seven defeats in the process. Therefore, they will be hoping to get back on track in order to start putting pressure on those above them as they look for a way to salvage their already doomed campaign.
