Grimsby will be looking to secure a National League playoff spot when they welcome Boreham Wood to Blundell Park on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the visitors need to claim all three points if they are to go into the final day of the season with an outside chance of securing a playoff spot.
The hosts currently sit in sixth spot and enter Tuesday’s contest with a three-point gap between themselves and Dagenham & Redbridge, who sit just outside the playoff places.
The Mariners will have to pick themselves up ahead of the midweek clash, having lost 31 at home to Maidenhead United at the weekend.
Maidenhead took the lead through Luke Waterfall before he was shown a red card just a minute later. Sam Barratt and Ryan Upward then scored to give the visitors a three-goal advantage and although Tristan Abrahams netted for Grimsby in the 76th minute, they were unable to pull a victory.
Although Abrahams’ goal was just a consolation for the hosts, it ensured that Paul Hurst’s side found the net for a seventh cnsecutive home game.
On the other hand, Boreham Wood enter the midweek game in ninth place, six points adrift of the playoffs.
Luke Gerrard’s side will need to win their final two matches if they are to finish in the top seven, while results elsewhere will also need to favour them.
Their task would have been slightly easier were it not for successive draws, and the latest of those matches saw the Wood give up a two-goal lead against Yeovil Town at the weekend.
Tyrone Marsh and Dennon Lewis put Boreham Wood in the ideal position for the three points, but Morgan Williams and Luke Wilkinson both scored to ensure that the Wood will need to defeat Grimsby to stand a chance of securing a playoff spot.
