Lanus make a trip to the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas to take on Godoy Cruz on Sunday in round eight of the 2022 Argentine Primera Division campaign.

The hosts will be looking to pick up a fourth win in a row, while Lanus go in search of a first victory in seven matches across all competitions.

Godoy Cruz managed to secure safe passage into the last 16 of the Copa Argentina courtesy of an impressive 3-1 victory over Lanus on Thursday.

Lanus’ Franco Orozco found the opener in the 24th minute before second-half goals from Tadeo Allende, Salomon Rodriguez and Martin Ojeda turned the tie in favour of Godoy Cruz.

Rodolfo Diego Flores’ side had previously seen off the threat of River plate in a 2-0 victory which saw them climb up to seventh place in the league standings.

That result saw Jorge Almiron’s side drop to 27th place in the table and remain just a point ahead of bottom-placed Aldosivi.

After four straight defeats and a seven-game winless streak across all competitions away from home, Lanus have a lot of work to do as they look to improve their fortunes on their travels.
