Both Gillingham and Shrewsbury will be looking to end their winless runs in League One when they lock horns for a crucial league fixture at Priestfield on Tuesday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Gillingham have made a poor and disappointing campaign this season with the club only claiming maximum points in only three of their 26 League One matches, while picking up nine draws and suffering 14 defeats in the process and they currently are rock-bottom in the standings with 10 points adrift of safety.
They head into the match in poor form having won none of their last 15 matches across all competitions, picking up five draws and 10 defeats in the run. The poor run has seen manager Steve Evans leave the club by mutual consent and in place an interim manager Steve Lovell was appointed as they look for a permanent manager.
The Gills head into the match I low spirits having lost all their last three League One matches including the 3-2 loss to league leaders Wigan Athletic. They were a little unlucky as they come from 2-0 down to equalize 2-2 in the 70th minute but couldn’t hold as they were pinned down seven minutes later.
Gillingham need nothing less than a victory in the Tuesday’s clash to have any hopes of salvaging their doomed season and Lovell will hope that his side can use the positives from the Wigan match to power up their confidence.
Meanwhile Shrewsbury have been inconsistent this season with the club recording eight wins, six draws and 13 defeats from their 27 league matches to collet 30 points, which have left them sitting in the 18th place with three points above the relegation zone.
The side head into the match in a poor form having won just one of their last five matches across all competitions, picking two draws and two defeats in the run. There poor form is brought by their failure to take chances in front of goal as they have only scored two goals in the run.
They are coming off a 1-0 home defeat to Bolton and they will be looking bounce back here as they aim at slaving their season and they will fancy their chances as they face a struggling Gillingham.
