Ghana vs Algeria Match Analysis and Prediction

Algeria and Ghana meet at Qatar’s Education City Stadium on Wednesday in their final warm-up friendly before the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, with a kickoff at 7 pm.

After seeing off Senegal 1-0 in 2019 final, the Greens are the reigning champions and will be looking to win a third title.

Algeria, seeking to become the fourth nation to lift successive Africa Cup of Nations titles, leave for Cameroon on December 26. The highly-anticipated continental tournament starts on January 9 and ends on February 6.

In addition, Algeria won their second African Cup of Nations title, after cruising through the group stages, scoring six goals and conceding none, before beating Ivory Coast and Nigeria to set up a final showdown with Senegal, whom they narrowly defeated 1-0.

Djamel Belmadi’s men also head into Cameroon as the reigning Arab Cup champions after securing a 2-0 win over rival Tunisia in the finals at Al Bayt Stadium on December 18.

Squaring off against Gabon and Comoros, who are making their first-ever appearance at the competition, Ghana started their campaign against Morocco on January 10.

On four occasions, Ghana’s Black Stars, winners of the Africa Cup of Nations, are hoping that this year’s edition will end a 40-year title wait. The Stars beat Libya in a penalty shootout after the two finalists played to a draw in normal time in 1982.
