Getafe boss Michel’s desperate search for a first point goes on as they welcome Real Sociedad this Sunday at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium.
Getafe ended last term in the 15th position and the early indications are that it is a very tough 2021-22 campaign for the Blues who remain pointless and are the only team which has lost all the seven fixture matches.
Getafe come to this match from a two goal defeat to Betis last weekend. Prior to that match, Getafe had shown an improvement in the fixture against the champions and the second placed suffering a narrow home loss. Getafe also, have scored the least number of goals and have conceded the most.
The head coach Michel must find a winning formula headed to this fixture but it will be a hard task following the fact that they lost both league matches against Real Sociedad last season including a 1-0 reverse at home though they did record a 2-1 success in this fixture during the 2019-20 campaign.
Real Sociedad on the other hand will be looking to continue their impressive start to the La Liga campaign and have picked up 16 points from their opening seven matches. Sociedad are the third in the table after the earlier match which propelled Atletico to the second position.
Real Sociedad performance has had them remain unbeaten across all competitions drawing in the both Europa league group B fixtures against Monaco and PSV Eindhoven. Real Sociedad finished fifth in La Liga last season and will be expecting to push high up the division once again, with a top-four challenge already at sight.
Real Sociedad’s start to the season is even more impressive following a long list of absentees and the coach will need to make adjustments to ease the situation.
