France Under 19 vs Italy Under 19 Match Analysis and Prediction

France Under 19 and Italy Under 19 have an encounter in the European Championship on Friday, with both teams having already qualified for the semi-finals.

However, whichever side that prevails in Streda will top the group, France in line to claim first spot if the two nations happen share the spoils.

While France are viewed as the favourites to win this competition for the fourth round, they initially only qualified for the finals throug a late comeback win against Bosnia-Herzegovina back in March.

However, Jean-Luc Vannuchi’s side look set to take full advantage, coming through their opening two matches with successful wins and seven goals to their name.

The 5-0 victory over Slovakia was dominant and a walk in the park in equal measure, while they controlled large parts of the following contest with Romania before conceding a late consolation goal in a 2-10 victory.

The goals have been shared among different players in the squad, with Ange-Yoan Bonny, Loum Tchaouna and Alan Virginius all contributing two goals each ahead of the group decider, which is something that gives the team morale when facing their opponents.

On the other hand, Italy have followed a similar path to their next opponents, with Carmine Nunziata’s side requiring a win over Belgium on the final day of qualifying to book their place in the final eight.

The Azzurri have not exactly matched France’s level against the same opponents, both of their victories coming by a one-goal margin.

However, head coach Nunziata will be satisfied with the show of character on both occasions, something which may be required during the latter stages.

These two nations have not had an encounter since the semi-finals of the 2018 competition, where Italy managed to claim a 2-0 victory on that occasion courtesy of goals from Christian Capone and Moise Kean.

Jean-Luc Vannuchi may want to freshen up his squad ahead of the semi-finals, with Ousmane Camara likely to be drafter into the middle of the backline.

Warren Bondo and Andy Diouf are both in contention for places in midfield, while Salim Ben Seghir may feature on the flank, replacing Tchaouna.

Carmine Nunziata may also freshen up his side, with key midfielder Cesare Casadei likely to be afforded a rest after playing in the encounter with Slovakia in its entirety.

Alessandro Fontarosa could be given a run out in the centre of defence, while Cristian Volpato hope for a startin role.

Prediction and Odds

There is a every chance that these two nations could eventually meet in the final, and neither will want to give up any potential advantages, despite their qualification.

Barring that in mind, we feel that this contest could end in a low-scoring draw, a result which will ultimately benefit France in the short term.
