Fiorentina vs Genoa Match Analysis and Prediction

Genoa will be travelling to face Fiorentina on Monday, with the hosts looking to return to winning ways in the Serie A.

Fiorentina are currently sitting 7th in the Serie A table, having collected 32 points from their opening 20 matches of the season, while Genoa are 19th, five points from the safety of 17th position.

The Purples have not finished higher than eighth in the league since 2015-16 season, but are currently seventh in Serie A.

They are level on points with sixth-placed Roma with a game in hand, but they lost 4-0 to Torino in the league last weekend, which will have hurt their confidence.

However, they managed to return to winning ways in the Coppa Italia on Thursday, picking up a 5-2 victory over Napoli after extra-time.

Fiorentina recorded a 2-1 victory over Genoa in the reverse match earlier this season, but three of the last four Serie A encounters have finished level.

Meanwhile, Genoa suffered a 3-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Coppa Italia on Thursday, while they also lost in the league last weekend, being beaten 1-0 at home to Spezia.

They have recorded one win, nine draws and 11 defeats from 21 matches to pick up 12 points, which has seen them sit 19th, five points behind 17th-placed Venezia.

Andriy Shevchenko found a hard time turning results around after his arrival in November, winning just one of his 11 matches in the reigns, suffering seven defeats in the process, and he got sacked as head coach on Saturday, with Abdoulay Konko and Roberto Murgita put in charge on a temporary basis.

However, the Red and Blues have lost just one of their last seven Serie A games with Fiorentina, and their only league success this season came on their outings, away to Cagliari in the middle of September.
