Fiorentina will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in the Serie A when they host Genoa at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in an important league fixture on Monday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Fiorentina will be delighted with what they have been able to achieve so far this season. The club has been superb his season recording 10 victories, two draws and eight defeats from their 20 matches to collect 32 points, which have left them sitting in the seventh place level on points with Roma, but the Violas have a match in hand.
However, Vincenzo Italiano’s side suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Torino in the top-flight last weekend at away, which have dented their confidence. The defeat marked their third consecutive match without a win the Serie A and will be looking to quickly bounce back as they aim at getting their campaign back on track.
They will fancy their chances in the Monday’s clash as they are coming off a massive confidence booster, having managed to knockout Napoli from the Coppa Italia with a 5-2 victory in the extra time last Thursday, with the Purples finding the net three times in the extra 30 minutes. Also they have not lost to their opponents in their last four encounters and won 2-1 the last time the two traded tackles.
Genoa on the other hand, will be worried with what they have been able to achieve this season as the club has been disappointing in this campaign managing to claim just one win from their 21 league matches, while picking up nine draws and 11 defeats in the process. They currently sit in the relegation zone with five points adrift off safety.
The Red and Blues head into the match in a poor form having only managed one win from their last 20 matches across all competitions and are coming off a five match winless run; including the 3-1 defeat to AC Milan in the third round of the Coppa Italia on Thursday night.
Andriy Shevchenko’s side will therefore be looking to bounce back and they need to start winning some games if they are to salvage their season this year.
