Group H of the Europa Conference League will draw the curtains on Thursday when FC Pynik play host to FC Basel in the final game of this stage of the competition.
Both sides are heading into the contest with the possibility of advancing into the next round, but it is the hosts who must win to make that happen.
FC Pyunik might be third in Group H of the competition at the moment, but there is a chance that they could end up winning it after this game. They sit two points behind Slovan Bratislava, who they faced in the mos recent Europa Conference League match.
Despite a penalty from Eugeniu Cociuc giving them the lead, they were unable to hang on to the three points after conceding two goals in the final stages of the game, with Bratislava scoring twice in the space of two minutes to leave Yegishe Melikyan’s side in a position where they must win to qualify for the knockout stages.
Basel were dominant in the reverse match against Pyunik, as a goal from Darian Males and a brace by Wouter Burger led to them taking all three points in game week one of the competition.
Scoring has been the key to Basel’s success so far in the Europe this season, as no team in Group H has managed more than the nine goals they have scored.
That was on display last week in the Europa Conference League when they scored two goals aginst Zalgiris, who are currently bottom of the group.
However, their two-goal lead was something that they were unable to hang onto as they were pegged back to end up sharing points.
That has left Basel in a difficult position of needing to get a result in the final game of the group.

FC Pyunik news
David Davidyan missed out last week despite being an attacking threat throughout the season for Pyunik, but could be contention for them this time around.
Eugeniu Cocius will retain his place in the starting lineup as the attacking midfielder managed to get on the scoresheet in their most recent European game.
FC Basel news
Andi Zeqiri led the line for Basel last week and he managed to get on the scoresheet, and he will likely be given that same opportunity once again.
Wouter Burger was used as a substitute in that game, and the visitors might choose to rely upon him once more on Thursday.
Prediction and Odds
With so much on the line for the two sides heading into the contest, it is no doubt going to be an intense and competitive affair from the outset.
Pyunik might have the home advantage here, but the attacking qualities of Basel should be enough to see them through to the knockout stages.
