This wasn’t a poor result for a team that is positioned 114th in the world. Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand made nine changes from the team that beat Scotland and the youngsters were expected to get an early lead but the Faroes put on a tremendous defense.
Moldova on the other hand are ranked 175th in the world, 61 spots below their counterparts, and they have conceded the most goals in the group, as well as have scored the least having scored only 2 goals and conceded 16 goals in the total five games.
Moldova also has never qualified for a major international tournament in their 27 year history and have won just five of their 62 World Cup qualifiers. They have also won just one of their last 23 games losing 19 of them across all competitions.
Italian Roberto Bordin took charge of the Moldovan national team in February, replacing Engin Firat, who failed to win a single game in charge. Roberto Bordin can boast of progress though after a recent win in a friendly at home to Azerbaijan back in June.
