Arouca will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Primeira Liga when they travel to Estadio Municipal de Famalicao to take on Famalicao in an important league match on Monday night with kickoff at 00:15.
Famalicao have made a disappointing campaign this season with the club claiming just three wins from their 19 league matches so far, picking up seven draws while suffering nine defeats in the process to collect 16 points which have them sitting just one place above the foot of the table with one point adrift of safety.
Os Azuis e Brancos continued their struggles last time out as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to a rampant Porto side at away last Sunday. The defeat meant that Famalicao have now just won match in their last nine across all competitions picking up three draws, while suffering five defeats in the run.
Therefore, Rui Silva’s men are in need of points and need to start winning on a regular basis if they are to secure yet another Primeira Liga survival. They also need to work on their defence as they have one of the worst defensive units in the division having let in 35 goals throughout the season.
Meanwhile Arouca have also been disappointing this season with club recording four wins, five draws and 10 defeats from their 19 matches to collect 17 points that are keeping them just two places and a point above the bottom three.
They also head into the match in a poor form having just one of their last seven league matches, picking up just one draw while suffering five defeats in the process. However, they are at least in high spirits heading into the contest as they are coming off a 2-1 away win against Estoril last Thursday.
The win was an important for Armando Evangelista’s troops who will want to continue winning as they aim at avoiding the drop zone. Anything other than a win on Monday will leave them in the danger zone something that Evangelista will want to avoid at all costs. They will fancy their chances having won their last two encounters against Famalicao and they will be looking to keep things that way.
