Everton will be desperate to bounce back to winning ways when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Goodison Park in Premier League on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Everton were left empty-handed again in Premier League when they suffered a thumping 5-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last Monday night. It was arguably the worst performance of the season and it was another big blow to their efforts of staying out of the relegation zone.
The Toffees have now lost all their last three Premier League matches, while winning one of their last five, losing all the other four in the process. As a result they sit just a place and a point above the relegation zone, although they have played a game less than the 18th-placed Burnley.
Generally, it has been a difficult season for Everton who despite appointing former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, have not seen much of a change as the Englishman has won only two of his last six matches at the helm.
Although Everton have shown some good sighs at home under Lampard having won three of their last four home matches across all competitions and will be looking to build on that as they seek to stay out of the drop zone.
Meanwhile Wolverhampton head into the match in high spirits as they are coming off a rampant 4-0 victory against troubled Watford, with Raul Jimenez, Daniel Podence and Ruben Neves getting on the score sheet, while Cucho Hernandez deflected one in his own net.
The win was an important one for The Wanderers as they ended their three-match losing streak in the Premier League while also just about keeping them in the top-four race in the process. They currently sit five points behind the fourth-placed Arsenal, although the Gunners have played three matches less.
Wolves will therefore be looking to continue staying in touch with the top-four with another positive result on Saturday against a struggling Everton. Although, they have a slight problem heading into the match, which is their recent record on the road as they have lost their last two away league matches and were beaten 1-0 by West Ham in their previous fixture at away.
