Estoril Praia will be looking to put an end to their losing streak when they welcome Pacos de Ferreira to Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota for what is expected to be a close match on Monday night with kickoff at 22:00.
Estoril Praia made a sensational start to life in Primeira Liga with the club going unbeaten in their opening five matches, claiming four wins and a draw in the run. However, the newbies seem to have run out steam with the team claiming just one from their last 10 Primeira Liga matches, picking up four draws while suffering six defeats in the process.
The Canarinhos were left empty handed once again in their previous outing as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Arouca at home last Thursday. The defeat marked their fifth defeat across all competitions with four of them coming in the Primeira Liga and one in the Taca de Portugal.
For all their recent struggles, Bruno Pinheiro’s men are currently seventh in the league standings level on 25 points with Portimonense after 19 matches. Their target will be to finish in the top half this season and therefore they will want to put an end to the slump as they aim at staying in the top nine.
Meanwhile Pacos de Ferreira have made an inconsistent campaign with the club recording four wins, seven draws and eight defeats from their 19 matches to collect 19 points which have them sitting in the 12th place, level on points with both Boavista and Vizela and are just three points above the relegation zone.
The Pacenses are in a poor form having only won two of their last 13 matches across all competitions, picking up five draws while suffering six defeats in the process. They failed to find their feet last time out when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Boavista at home in a cagey affair that Vitorino Antunes calmly converting from the penalty spot to give the hosts an early lead before Kenji Gorre ensured a share of spoils with his 85th goal.
The draw marked their third winless match in the league and with just three points keeping them from the drop zone Cesar Peixoto will expect more from his men in this match as they at climbing into the top half and staying away from the bottom three.
