Estoril Praia vs Belenenses Match Analysis and Prediction

Belenenses travel to the Estadio Antonio Coimbra de Mota to face Estoril Praia on Sunday, as they will be looking to claim successive Primeira Liga wins for the first time since last July and move out of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, the hosts head into the match wihtout a win in any of their last four fixtures and will be seeking to put an end to this dry spell.

Estoril Praia turned in a resilient display in the Primeira Liga last Monday when they held fourth-placed Sporting Braga to a goalless draw on their home soil.

Despite 64 percent of ball possession being on their side, Carlos Carvalhal’s side were guilty of a wasteful display in front of goal as they failed to tuck home their chances before settling for a share of spoils.

Estoril were on a run of three consecutive defeats prior to that, losing to Benfica, Vizela and Santa Clara, while scoring twice and conceding six goals in the process.

The Canarinhos are currently ninth in the Primeira Liga standings, with 35 points from 30 matches, leaving them level on points with 10th-placed Santa Clara, but could rise as high as seventh with all three points on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Belenenses kept their survival chances alive as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vizela when the sides met last Saturday.

Despite being on the back foot for most of the game, Yves Baraye came to the rescue of O Belem as he scored the only goal of the game at the Estadio do Restelo to condemn the visitors to a defeat.

While Belenenses remain rooted to the bottom of the table with 24 points from 30 matches, a victory on Sunday could see them leave the automatic relegation places as they sit two points off Moreirense in the playoff spot.

Estoril Praia news

Pinheiro will not be able to call upon the services of Ruben Providence, as the 20-year-old French youngstar continues his lengthy speel on the sidelines through an ankle problem.

He is joined on the Estoril Praia injury table by defender Lucas Africo, who picked up a knee injury last November.

Belenenses news

Belenenses are set to be without 23-year-old midfielder Chico Teixeira, who has been out of action since last September through a knee problem.

Baraye ended an eight-game goal drought with his effort against Vizela last time out and he is expected to team up with Safira and Rafael Camacho in attack.

Prediction and Odds

Estoril Praia have won three out of five recent encounters and will be backing themselves to come away with positive results against a Belenenses side yet to win away from home this season.

However, we predict the visitors will build on last week’s win over Vizela and claim a victory here.
