Estonia vs Belarus Match Analysis and prediction

Both Estonia and Belarus will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they square off at the Albert le Coq Arena on Friday for a fascinating Group E fixture of the UEFA 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with kickoff at 21:45.

The two are the worst nations in Group E as they hold the bottoms spots in the group standings with Estonia occupying the fifth spot with one point and -9 goal difference after four matches while Belarus are fourth with three points and -9 goal difference after five games.

Both teams couldn’t make it to the Euros and will have to await their luck for some time but Estonia are off a Baltic cup glory that saw them win three games in row prior to winning the local tournament. However, Thomas Haberli’s side could not continue their winning ways when the mighty Belgium came knocking on their doors. Despite, though losing 5-2 on the day Estonia put up an impressive fight opening the scores just a few minutes after kickoff.

Estonia proceeded to lose 0-1 to Northern Ireland in an international friendly before their hard fought 0-0 draw against Wales in Cardiff. Estonia had goalkeeper Karl Hein to thank for their unlikely point in Wales last month as they picked up their first point in four matches.

Now Estonia head into the match in a good form having registered three wins in their last six across all competitions while they drew one and suffered two defeats. Estonia lost their reverse fixture against Belarus but they have now a home advantage and are in a better form than that of their opponents and a win will propel them on top of Belarus thus Harberli’s men will be hungrier for the three points.

Meanwhile Belarus opened their qualifying campaign with a 4-2 win against their Friday hosts giving them the three points on board but since then, Belarus have lost four successive qualifying matches in a row, conceding 13 goals while scoring just two goals.

Now Georgi Kondratiev’s side enter the match in a poor form as they are coming off five defeats in row across all competitions with their biggest defeat being the 8-0 against Belgium in their second qualifying fixture.

Belarus will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing run but it won’t be easy as their opponents are also as desperate and it will be fascinating to see how this plays out.
