Dresden and Kaiserslautern will meet at Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion on Tuesday evening, in the second leg of their 2. Bundesliga relegation playoff with kickoff at 10:30 pm.
Dynamo Dresden has struggled to find their footing in the 2. Bundesliga, sitting 16th in the table and eight points away from 15th-place Jahn Regensburg. Since December, Guerino Capretti’s side has played out five draws in their last six matches, though they have not won a match. Dynamo was promoted to the 2. Bundesliga after winning 3. Liga last season and they will attempt to make an impact in Germany’s second tier.
Capretti is still searching for his first win as SGD head coach since taking charge in March, drawing seven and losing four of his 11 matches at the helm. Dynamo showed determination to deal with the pressure created by their home supporters in the first leg. However, they will be confident of securing a place in the next round of the competition at their ground on Tuesday.
Kaiserslautern dominated for long periods of the first leg, attempting 14 shots in total, although just one of those was on target. A majority of the 47,000 spectators in the stadium were left frustrated at the final whistle.
Kaiserslautern finished third in Germany’s third tier during the 2021-22 season and picked up 63 points from their 36 games, finishing just one point behind the automatic promotion spots.

Dyanmo Team News
Dynamo is likely to be without Paul Will’s services due to an injury the midfielder picked up in the first half of the first leg. Yannick Stark could come in for a start, but head coach Capretti is likely to resist the temptation to shuffle his pack, and it would not be a surprise to see the majority of the XI keep their positions from the first leg.
Kaiserslautern Team News
As for the visitors, Philipp Hercher and Hikmet Ciftci were missing the first leg due to a muscular injury and stomach bug, respectively, but both are expected to be available here. Felix Gotze was overlooked for a starting role on Friday but is in contention to make the XI here.
Prediction and Odds
Although Kaiserslautern was impressive for long spells of the first leg, we feel that the visitors will do enough to secure a narrow victory here.
