The Scottish Premiership returns to the fold this weekend as Dundee welcome Aberdeen to Dens Park for their Matchday 32 tie on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Dundee were left empty-handed again last time out in Premiership as they went down 2-1 against Rangers at home before the international break. Prior to the defeat Dundee were coming off a 1-0 defeat to St Mirren at home and in between the two they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Rangers in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
The Dark Blue have now failed to win their last seven matches across all competitions while have only won one of their last 16 Premiership matches, picking up just four draws while suffering 11 defeats in the process.
The run has seen them drop into the bottom of the table and are now four points behind St Johnstone who occupy the relegation-playoff spot. With only two matches remaining Mark McGhee’s side will need to claim maximum points to stand a chance of fighting for their survival in the relegation-playoff. Anything less than a victory on Saturday will surely have McGhee’s men park for the Championship next season.
Their home form certainly is not helping the Dark Blues who have won just three of their last 16 home matches, but might draw confidence from the fact that Aberdeen have struggled on the road.
Indeed, Aberdeen have been poor on the road this season and only Dundee have the worst away record than the Dons. They have only managed two victories from their 16 away matches, picking up four draws while suffering 10 defeats in the process. Also, the dark Blues claimed a 2-1 victory when the Dons last visited the Dens Park this season.
Aberdeen however head into the match in a good mood having claimed an impressive 3-1 victory against Hibernian at home in the previous Premiership tie. The win was crucial for Jim Goodwin’s side as it ended their 10-match winless run the Scottish top-tier.
They now sit eight points above the relegation zone and with two matches remaining means that the Dons have already salvaged their season, but will want to record another positive result this weekend as they look to end the campaign in a style.

Dundee missed the services of both lee Ashcroft and Danny Mullen last time out due to fitness issues, which is something that could prove to be a problem once again. But following the club will hope the international break will have helped in terms of fitness.
