Denmark vs Scotland Match analysis and Prediction

Denmark will be looking to maintain their 100% record in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers when they welcome Scotland to Parken Stadium for the fourth round of group stage this Wednesday with kickoff at 21:45.

These two sides had very contrasting campaigns in the Euro 2020 with the Danes thrilling fans worldwide as they got to the semi-finals of the tournament where they lost 2-1 to England in extra time. This was after the collapse and merciful recovery of their captain and talisman Christian Eriksen in the first game against Finland where they lost 1-0, then lost 2-1 to Belgium in the following match before putting four past Russia who could only reply with one in the final group match. The determined Danes humiliated Wales with a thrashing 4-0 win in the round of 16 before sending Czech Republic home in a 2-1 victory in the quarter-finals.

Scotland on the other hand, had a poor run in the Euro 2020 where they could not manage to get past the group stages after just picking one point and scoring only one goal in three group matches hence earning the early exit. They opened with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Czech Republic before drawing 0-0 with England and ended up losing 3-1 against Croatia in the final group match.

However, both sides are unbeaten in group F of the European World Cup qualifiers with Danes topping the group with four points above Scotland who are in the second spot. Denmark have an excellent run in the World Cup qualifiers maintaining a 100% record and scoring 14 times and not conceding a single goal in the opening three matches, while Scotland have picked up five points from three games drawing out in their opening two matches against Austria and Israel before cruising to a 4-0 victory against Faroe Islands summing their total goals to seven.

Denmark will now head into the match with Kasper Hjulmand hoping that his side can take their positive momentum and determination to the World Cup qualifiers as they aim at a straight qualification to Qatar.

Meanwhile Steve Clarke’s Scotland will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing Euro 2020 run as they aim to close the gap on the group leaders to just one point at the halfway stage.
