Cuiaba vs Botafogo Match Analysis and Prediction

Both Cuiaba and Botafogo will be looking make it back-to-back victories in the Brasileiro Serie A on the bounce when they lock horns at Arena Pantanal in their league Matchday 16 tie on Sunday night.

Cuiaba claimed their fourth league victory this season last weekend when they beat Avai 2-1 at away. The victory was important to Cuiaba as ended their four-match league winless run that saw them pick two draws and two defeats, and it saw them climb to one point within safety.

Cuiaba currently sit 18^th in the league standings, five points above the bottom two and two points behind 11^th-place Avai. Therefore, a win on Sunday could not only see them climb outside the relegation zone but also as high as 11^th, something they will desperately fight for.

Meanwhile, Botafogo claimed their sixth league success last time out as they picked a narrow 1-0 win over Bragantino at away. The victory saw them bounce back from their two consecutive defeats to Fluminense in the league and America-MG in the Copa do Brasil.

Botafogo now won three of their last four league matches, a run that has seen them rise to ninth in the Brasileiro Serie A standings, where they sit level on 21 points with eighth-placed Flamengo and three points behind Fluminense in sixth.

Luis Castro’s side will now be looking for another positive result this weekend as they hope to keep climbing up the table.
