Crystal Palace vs Norwich City Match Analysis and Prediction

Both Crytal Palace and Norwich City were defeated on Boxing Day, and will be aiming to bounce back their disappointment when they meet in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Tuesday.

Despite a request to postpone their fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday due to COVID-19 absences in the squad, Crystal Palace travelled for the game.

After a double from the hosts left Palace 2-0 behind just after the half-hour mark, Wilfred Zaha was sent off for a second yellow card in an altercation with Emerson Royal just three minutes after the second goal.

Viera could then just set his side up for damage control for the rest of the game, and he was perhaps a little pleased that the scorline did not become a humiliation.

There are just nine points still separating the Eagles from the drop zone, but Viera will be keen for his side to turn results around in the coming weeks to ensure they do not fall into the relegation battle.

Meanwhile, Norwich’s Christmas spirit was snatched from them on Sunday, with the Canaries being thrashed 5-0 by Arsenal at Carrow Road.

Dean Smith’s side were once again outdone and locked out of place in the Premier League during the game, as they struggled to play against their opponents throughout.

After Bukayo Saka had scored an opener inside six minutes, and Kieran Tierney doubled just before half time, Norwich did not seem to be capable of picking up any points from the match.

As a result, it has now become four consecutive defeats for Dean Smith, all of which his side have failed to score in, and they remain just three points from safety despite their current return of 10 points, and eight goals scored in their opening 18 games on their return to the Premier League.
