Both Crystal Palace and Leicester City will be looking to return to winning ways when they lock horns for the seventh Premier League matchday at the Selhurst Park on Sunday with kickoff at 16:00.
Crystal Palace have made an inconsistent start to the new Premier League campaign under the management of Patrick Vieira as the south Londoners have won one, drawn three and lost two in their opening six matches leaving them in the 15th spot with six points in the standings.
The Eagles head into the match in a slightly below average form having won only one of their last six games across all competitions while drawing three and losing two, and also, they are coming off a heartbreaking 1-1 draw against Brighton who bagged a last-minute equalizer in Monday’s M23 derby. The draw was a big blow to the Eagles who had displayed an impressive performance for most of the game.
However, Crystal Palace have a good home form as they have not lost in any of their last five home matches across all competitions have won one and drawn two of their three home league matches this season so far and Viera will hope that his side can keep the momentum going as he aims for his second Premier League win as a manager.
Meanwhile, Leicester City have failed to meet their expectations in the Premier League so far as the club has declined in their performances and have only managed two wins and a draw in their opening six matches leaving them in the 13th position with seven points, which is indeed a decline for the Foxes who a year ago were number three with 12 points in the standings.
The Foxes have also made an unconvincing start to their European football as they still without a win in Group C of the Europa League having opened with a 2-2 draw against Napoli before suffering a 1-0 defeat at Legia Warsaw in their second match. They now occupy the bottom spot with one point in the group standings.
Leicester cannot afford another debacle and will be desperate for a win coming into the Sunday’s clash as they look to boost their morale heading into the international break. However, City have only won of their last five league visits to Crystal Palace making this an interesting and exciting match along with some drama and goals.
