Colon are sure to secure qualification to the Copa Libertadores round of 16 should they defeat Olimpia in the second last game of the group stage at Estadio Bridadier General Estanislao Lopez.
Both sides are separated by just two points in the group with Colon in second, level with leaders Cerro Porteno, while the 2022 Copa Libertadores has been a very tight competition so far with Group G being no exception.
Only two points separate the top three teams with Colon coming into this contest following a 2-1 win in their last continental match, whereas Olimpia defeated bottom side Penarol 1-0.
The Paraguayan outfit will need to keep up that form in this away trip, otherwise the could be looking at an early exit from the competition.
However, El Decano need to be on top form on Wednesday, considering Colon have won every home game in the Copa Libertadores this season. Colon have however not been able to translate that form to the league yet, with the side winning just three matches in 14.
On the other hand, Olimpia are flying high in third with four wins in their past five league matches, which is form that may provide them the edge in this game.
Olimpia have been relatively good defensively, conceding just 15 goals in 16 league matches, and just two in the Copa Libertadores so far. However, they lack in attack leaving them on zero goal difference in the group.
Meanwhile, although Colon seem to be free-scoring, they have their own issues in the form of a leaky defence, which may result in both of these sides cancelling each other out once again.
Should that happen, then Colon will be advantaged a lot more than Olimpia, who could end up dropping into the Copa Sudamerica considering their significant four-point gap to Penarol.

Colon news
Colon like to rotate between the Copa Libertadores and the Argentine Primera Division. Their attack is often spearheaded by Lucas Beltran and Facondo Farias, which has proved to be an effective partneship.
With full clean bill of health for both sides, they should field their strongest lineups in this crucial matchup.
Olimpia news
Olimpia could to stick with a similar side that won 4-1 at the weekend, with Nestor Camacho and Guillermo Paiva leading the forward line.
Eyes should also be out on Derlis Gonzalez, who had an eight-year stint in Europe, winning the Swiss Super League for Basel and Ukranian Premier League with Dynamo Kiev.
Prediction and Odds
The two sides are evenly matches and with both teams having the strength the other side lacks, it is likely they could cancel out each other out.
According to the recent Copa Libertadores fixtures, high-scoring matchups are not common with these clubs, so a low-scoring draw is likely the outcome.
