Clermont Foot will host Lyon at the Stade Gabriel Montpied in their final Ligue 1 Matchday on Saturday night with kickoff at 22:00.
Despite struggling for form throughout the campaign, Clermont Foot head into their final match this season having already secured top-flight football for next season. Even if they lose on Saturday, at worst, they will finish in 17th place.
They however, head into the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Strasbourg in Ligue 1 last weekend. They have now suffered two defeats in their last three league matches and they will be looking to bounce back here as they seek to end the campaign on a high.
They face Lyon who also have nothing to fight for as they sit eighth on 58 points, five points outside the European places and four points above both Nantes and Lille in ninth and 10th respectively. They are therefore most likely to finish eight no matter the result on Saturday.
They head into the match in good mood though having won three of their last four league games including a 3-2 home victory against Nantes last weekend. They will should there be confident of finishing the campaign on a high with another positive result on Saturday.
