Argentina will make a trip to Calama to face Chile for their World Cup 2022 CONMEBOL qualifier on Friday, as they will be looking to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to 27 matches.
Meanwhile, Chile will be hoping to bounce back from defeat last time out with a win and climb back into the top four.
Following a diasppointing start to their qualification campaign, winning just one of their first 10 matches, Chile bounced back with maximum points from their next three fixtures, with their victory over Venezuela in between home and away victories against Paraguay.
However, Chile suffered another setback as they were defeated 2-0 at home against Ecuador last time out, missing the opportunity to climb into the top four.
That result means Chile have dropped to sixth in the standings, nut they are only one point behind Colombia in fourth so there is still hope of booking their place in Qatar.
La Roja have failed to win any of their last five internationals against Argentina, but the point they claimed in the reverse fixture last year will provide them with some belief os securing a positive result at home.
Despite playing a goalless draw at home against Brazil in their most recent qualifier, the result was enough for Argentina to secure their spot at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Argentina remain six points behind Brazil at the top, but a 12-point gap now separates them from fifth-places Peru, who have played an extra game, which guarantees them a top-four finish.
However, La Albiceleste conceded in their last two encounters with Chile where they finished in a 1-1 draw.
Their most reacent clash in the Copa America group stage was the only game La Albiceleste failed to win on their way to lifting the title.
