Seeking their first win of the season, Chengdu Qianbao will play host to Shenzhen at the Meixian Tsang Hin-chi Stadium in round six of the Chinese Super League with kickoff at 2:30 pm.
Chengdu Qianbao have tasted victory just once this season, after they drew 0-0 with Meizhou Hakka last Monday. They are now one of three teams yet to win a game, picking up three draws and losing two of their five games so far.
This poor start to the season has been owing to their toothless display at the attacking end of the pitch, where they have scored just three goals—with two coming in their 3-2 loss to Beijing Guoan on June 8th. Seo Jungwon’s side gained promotion to the top flight last season and are currently 15th in the league standings, level with Guangzhou FC just inside the drop zone.
In contrast, Beijing Guoan were in devastating form when they hammered Shenzhen 4-1 at the Wuhua Hengpi Football Town last time out. The Imperial Guards had already secured victories over Meizhou Hakka and Cangzhou Mighty Lions by then and they were rampant against their southern rivals, scoring four times with ease.
Shenzhen have now lost two of their last three outings and are without a win since beating Cangzhou Mighty Lions 1-0.

Chengdou Qiandou Team News
Chengdu Qianbao will be without the services of Chinese international Guanghui Han, who is currently recuperating from an arm injury. Twenty-seven-year-old midfielder Hu Mingtian is also a doubt for this weekend’s encounter after coming off with a 31st-minute injury against Meizhou Hakka last time out.
Shenzhen Team News
Frank Acheampong’s two goals in the reverse fixture ensured a Shenzhen victory and we expect the Ghanian forward to spearhead the attack once again. Acheampong, who is currently second in the league’s goalscoring chart, should be joined in the final third by veteran forward Lin Goa and 22-year-old Huang Ruifeng.
Prediction and Odds
Chengdu Qianbao will look to avenge their defeat to Shenzhen last season when they meet at the Shenzhen Stadium. We predict the visitors will do just enough to force a share of the spoils.
- Draw
- Double Chance
- Both Teams to Score
