Chelsea vs Everton Match Analysis and Prediction

Chelsea will be looking to build their consistency when they welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night for an important round 17 league fixture with kickoff at 22:45.

Chelsea have been on a high this season and were on top of the Premier League standings for majority of the campaign. However, an inconsistency form in the recent weeks has seen the Blues drop to the third spot, while losing the Champions League group on the last day, finishing in the second behind Juventus.

The Blues appeared destined to record a third Premier League stalemate at Stamford Bridge during Leeds visit last weekend as Raphinha, Joe Gelhardt Jorginho and Mason Mount all struck in the thrilling encounter. However, Chelsea were saved a by a last-minute penalty as Antonio Rudiger won his second penalty of the evening which Jorginho was happy to convert to hand the blues a dramatic 3-2 success with tension boiling after the last whistle.

Chelsea have been solid at the back for majority of the time under Thomas Tuchel, but conceding twice to Leeds meant that Chelsea have now failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four Premier League matches which is concern they need to deal with.

With Liverpool and Man City also prevailing on the weekend with narrow margins means that Chelsea will still retain their position in the rankings and will need to continue winning if they are to keep in touch with the first place and keep the pace with the determined Man City and Liverpool.

Meanwhile Everton return to their poor form six days after bouncing back with a win against a lackluster Arsenal side. The Toffee faced a much sterner test from London in the form of Crystal Palace as Rafa Benitez’s side could not match this London side as they slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Selhurst Park.

As a result Everton head in to the match in a poor form as they now lost in seven of their last nine Premier league matches including in each of their last four on the road. The defeat also saw them continue falling down the Premier League table as they now sit in the 14th with just seven points above the relegation zone.

The Toffees failed to prove that their win over Arsenal was not just a fluke and we just don’t see them prevailing here as they have lost in four of their last six visits to Stamford Bridge and the hosts will not want the gap between them ant the top to widen and thus will be in for a routine win here.
