Both Ivory Coast and Cameroon will be looking to finish at the top of Group D of the CAF World Cup Qualifiers when they lock horns at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo on Tuesday night with kickoff at 22:00.
Both sides have made impressive qualifying campaigns with Cameroon picking up four wins and one defeat in their five matches to collect 12 points which have left them occupying the second spot in the group standings, while Ivory Coast remain unbeaten in the group and have picked up four wins and one draw collecting 13 points that have them occupying the top spot in the group standings.
Therefore, with only one point separating the two sides, both will enter the Tuesday’s clash with a must-win mind set as they both look to advance to the playoff stage of the qualifiers. However, Cameroon have not won a match against their visitors since 2014 and they lost 2-1 in their reverse fixture and hence will be in for a revenge while Ivory Coast will want to continue their dominance over the hosts and will be in to complete a double over them.
Both are coming off wins with Cameroon having a three-match winning streak including the 4-0 demolition of Malawi in their last group fixture, while Ivory Coast have a four-match winning streak which includes the 3-0 thumping of Mozambique on Saturday.
