Lazio will be seeking to return to winning ways when they travel to Unipol Domus Stadium to take on Cagliari in their Serie A matchday 28 encounter on Saturday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Cagliari are coming off a massive confidence-boosting 2-1 away victory over Torino last Wednesday night. The win saw them extend their unbeaten run in Serie A to five matches, claiming two victories and three draws in the process.
The impressive run has seen them continue to ease themselves away from the relegation zone. They are now three points clear of the bottom three and have suffered just one defeat in their last eight Serie A matches.
Surprisingly though, Cagliari have struggled at home as they have claimed just one win in their six home matches, picking four draws, including successive 1-1 draws against Napoli and Fiorentina. They will need to change that in the Saturday’s clash as they look to continue climbing away from the drop zone.
Meanwhile Lazio have been blowing hot and cold this season and they continued the inconsistency last time out as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Napoli at home last Wednesday night. The defeat extended their winless run across all competitions to four matches picking two draws and two defeats in the run.
They have now gone two matches without a win Serie as prior to the Napoli’s defeat they were coming off a 1-1 draw against Udinese, which ended their back-to-back victories in the league. The defeat saw Roma displace them from the last European place and they now sit in seventh with a point behind Roma.
Therefore, they will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they hope to break into the top-six while keeping in touch with the top-four.
