West Ham United will be looking to build on their famous victory over Chelsea in their last Premier League match when they visit Turf Moore to take on a struggling Burnley on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Burnley have been miserable this season with club only winning one of their 14 matches of the 2021-22 Premier League season, while picking up seven draws and suffered six defeats in the process. They currently sit in 18th spot level on 10 points with both 19th-placed Newcastle united and the 20th-placed Norwich City, but Burnley have a game in hand.
Burnley have managed to survive in the top-flight for the sixth time now, but it does appear that the Clarets will be involved in relegation battle this season and although they finished 17th last season, they were 11 points clear of the drop zone. That doesn’t seem to be the case this campaign for Burnley who seem unable to convert draws into wins and have ended up sharing points in seven meetings, which is why they can’t move away from the danger zone.
Turf Moore has hardly been a fortress for Sean Dyche’s side as it has always been as Burnley have only won one of their six home matches this season and they visitors won on their last visit and same result may be expected on Sunday.
Meanwhile West Ham United have had an excellent 2021-22 Premier League campaign with the capital club recording eight wins, three draws and four defeats from their 15 matches to collect 27 points, which have left them occupying the last Champions League spot with eight points behind league leaders Man City.
David Moyes’ side also have made an impressive continental campaign as they went into their last group fixture of the Europa League having already booked a spot in the last 16 as Group H winners. However, they lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in the final group match day, but Moyes made a number of changes to his usual starting XI.
Back to the Premier League the Hammers will be looking to make it back-to-back wins as they are coming off a famous win against the formidable Chelsea in a feisty London derby last weekend. Chelsea went ahead in two occasions but West Ham managed to peg them back in both occasions and they outsmarted the Blues in the second half with Arthur Masuaku coming up with an 87th-minute winner.
The win saw West Ham put an end to their short slump run as they were coming of a three-match winless run that included back-to-back defeats and a draw. It also helped them clench on their fourth spot and will be looking to maintain their status on the table when they visit Turf Moore.
