Bulgaria vs North Macedonia Match Analysis and Prediction

Bulgaria and North Macedonia will open their open their UEFA Nations League campaign in League C at Huvepharma Arena on Wednesday night with kickoff at 19:00.

The two have were listed together with Georgia and Gibraltar in Group 4 of League C of the UEFA Nations League. All will be fighting for the top spot as they hope for promotion to League B.

Both Bulgaria and North Macedonia missed out on World Cup qualifiers with Bulgaria getting eliminated in the group stage having finished fourth in Group C on eight points from eight matches, while North Macedonia were eliminated in the first playoff final by Portugal. However, North Macedonia did well to reach the final against all odds as they beat Italy, champions of Europe, in the semifinal. This was after finishing second behind Germany in Group J of the qualifiers.

They will be looking to get over the disappointment of missing out on their first ever World Cup finals by getting themselves in League B of the UEFA Nations League. Macedonia will be considering themselves favorites to win Group 4 of League C and will look establish that on Wednesday against fellow group favorites.

Prior to their Portugal defeat, North Macedonia were in a good form winning four of their previous five games. They will therefore fancy their chances of bouncing back here, although the last time they met with Bulgaria, they lost 2-0.

However, Bulgaria head into the match in poor form having lost all their last three games, while they have won just one of their last six matches suffering four defeats in the run. They will want to start on the front foot though and we should expect a close encounter here.
