Brighton vs Tottenham Match Analysis and Prediction

Both Brighton and Tottenham will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns at American Express Community Stadium in their Matchday 16 in-hand game on Wednesday night with kickoff at 22:30.

Brighton’s form has deteriorated recently following what has been their best season in a long time. The Seagull enjoyed a good start and maintained top-half status in the EPL for most of the campaign with some impressive performances and results.

However, all that seems to be forgotten now as the Graham Potter’s side have now suffered five defeats on the trot in the Premier League, conceding 11 goals while scoring just one in the run. As result Brighton have dropped into the bottom half and now sit 13th with two points outside the top-half.

They will not be worried about being dragged into the relegation battle now as they are some 11 points away from the drop zone. They will still be looking up the table and will want to return to the top-half. To do that they need to put an end to their poor run of form as soon as possible.

Meanwhile Tottenham fell to a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford last Saturday in their previous league outing. Despite there fighting spirit in the match as they equalize twice, it was not enough as Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick just about did for the Red Devils.

The defeat saw Tottenham’s inconsistent form extended with the side usually following up a loss with a win recently. That has seen them fail to get themselves into the European places and are now six points outside the top-four, while they have played one match more than the fourth-placed Arsenal.

They will therefore want to quickly bounce back to winning ways as they seek to keep in touch with the top four. Harry Kane has been looking lively lately and will be expected to cause Brighton plenty of problems.

Tottenham have had the upper-hand in this fixture having only lost twice to Brighton in their last 12 encounters and will fancy their chances, although the last time they visited the Amex the suffered a 1-0 defeat.
