Both Brighton and Burnley will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they face off in the 26th Premier League round at the Amex Stadium on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.
Brighton failed to make back-to-back victories in the Premier League, with the club falling to a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford in their midweek fixture. Prior to the defeat the Seagulls were coming off a 2-0 victory against Watford which ended their four-match winless run.
However, Graham Potter’s side remain in the top-half of the Premier League, sitting in ninth place with just four points behind the seventh-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, who currently occupy the final European spot.
Brighton a have been draw specialists this season with the side claiming 12 draws so far and eight of their last 12 Premier League fixture against Burnley have ended in a share of the spoils, but Potter’s side claimed a 2-1 win against the opponents earlier in the campaign and will be looking to complete a double over them as they aim at climbing closer to the European places.
Meanwhile Burnley were left empty handed in their previous Premier League encounter as they fell to 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Turf Moore last weekend with Fabinho’s half-time tap in was enough to separate the two sides while condemning the Clarets to their ninth league defeat this season.
The defeat continued Burnley’s struggles in the Premier League as they have now gone 11 matches without a win in the top-flight picking up seven draws while suffering four defeats in the process. As a result Burnley have slipped down to the bottom of the league, where they sit on 14 points collected from 21 games and are seven points adrift of safety with at least two matches in hand on fellow relegation battlers.
Therefore, Sean Dyche will be desperate to see his side bounce back to winning ways as they work towards salvaging their season, but they will need to work on their away form as the Clarets are yet to claim a win on the road and have only accumulated five points from the available 33 at away.
