Brighton and Brentford will continue their preseason preparation when their lock horns in an all Premier League friendly at the AMEX Elite Football Performance Venter on Tuesday.
Brighton have had a successful pre-season so far as they remain unbeaten after three friendlies. They opened the pre-season campaign with a 0-0 draw against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, before beating Estoril Praia (4-1) and Reading (2-1).
They will be looking to extend their successful run in the pre-season as they look to get ready to hit the ground running when the Premier league opens early next month.
The Seagulls finished in the top half of the Premier League table, an achievement they will be looking to build on this season and perhaps go for the European spots, which will need a good start to the campaign.
Meanwhile Brentford have had a mixed pre-season so far with the side playing four friendlies, picking one win, one draw and two defeats. On top of that the Bees lost Christian Eriksen, who was an integral part of their campaign last season, to Man United this summer.
Its true to say that Eriksen helped the Bees retain their Premier League status last season after making it to the top tier for the first time in 74 years. They finished 13th on 46 points, five places and 10 points above the relegation zone – a big achievement for a newly promoted side.
The Bees were a surprise package last season in the Premier League and will be looking to extend their life in the top flight this season. They will take on Brighton, and then finalize their pre-season against Real Betis Balompie before opening their 2022/23 Premier league campaign at away against Leicester City on August 7.
