Brest welcome a struggling Bordeaux to the Stade Francis-Le-Ble for their final Ligue 1 Matchday fixture of the season on Saturday night with kickoff at 22:00.
This most likely Bordeaux’s last top-flight fixture as are currently at the bottom of the table, and while they could theoretically finish on 31 points, they cannot match 18th-placed Metz as they need to overcome Brest with more than 12 goals to rich the relegation spot.
On top of that, Bordeaux head into the match in a poor form, as they have won just one of their last 15 league games, and have picked just two points from last six games. Also they are coming up against a side they fallen to in their last three meetings across all competitions.
Brest have very little to play for on Saturday given that the worst position they can finish in is 12th. They also cannot climb any higher that their current 11th place. Brest though will also want to forget this season due to the inconsistency they have been experiencing.
They are coming off back-to-back defeats to Strasbourg and Monaco, which ended their three math winning streak. However, with a good head to head record over Bordeaux recently, Brest will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways and finishing the campaign on a high.
